FAQs

Any questions? We've got the answers

During a soups and shakes diet, you replace all or some of your meals with nutritionally-complete shakes, soups, and porridges for a period of 3 months before reintroducing healthy foods into your diet. Our total diet replacement meals contain all of the nutrients your body needs while being only 200kcal. It's this nutritional profile that keeps you feeling fuller for longer, despite consuming fewer calories.

Yes! A daily 800kcal diet has been tested in large randomised control trials and proven to be not only safe, but also incredibly effective. If you consume your daily 800kcals via our total diet replacement diet meals you won’t have to worry about eating balanced meals or supplementing with vitamins, as they contain all of the essential nutrients your body needs to stay healthy and well.

Absolutely! While Habitual is based on the best scientific evidence for type 2 diabetes reversal, we're on a mission to make better health accessible to as many people as possible. Most of our members achieve long-awaited weight loss goals and go on to feel healthier and happier in all aspects of their lives.

You may be hungry for the first couple of days as your body adjusts, but our members rarely report hunger after that point. This is for a few reasons. To begin with, your body goes into mild ketosis on a low-calorie diet, which has a satiating effect. In addition, there is research to suggest that an all-liquid diet actually increases satiety, meaning that you’ll feel fuller than you would if you were eating the same amount of solid food.

All of our meals are suitable for vegetarians and gluten-free, and four of our meals are suitable for a vegan diet. All of our meals apart from our Vanilla Shake are suitable for a Halal diet. View the full list of ingredients to find out more.

We've based our programmes on the DiRECT[1], DIADEM-I[4], and many other trials,[5] which show that diabetes remission is possible within 6 months for 46-60% of patients undergoing a shakes and soups programme. Our 4/day programme is very similar to the NHS trial as it requires you to replace all your meals with soups, shakes, and porridges, however, none of our programmes are currently available through the NHS.
